I think one of the biggest significances about Snape’s childhood is how similar it is to Harry’s. Why do you think JK Rowling made this so, and will their similarities be highlighted in future books? Do you think Harry will acknowledge this similarity in future books? Or will their chaotic chemistry cause further problems like it did in OoTP?Also, his childhood connection to Lily seems to hang ambiguously in the air from the pensieve scene in OoTP, the chapter, on it's primary level, served two purposes in the OoTP plot which was to disillusion Harry about his father & thus discontinue Harry's occulumencyy lessons, so Lily's appearance was not needed, yet she seems to have played an important role in connection to Snape. What do you think his connection to Lily is?

please dont call him Snivellus - its so unfair he was basically a odd ball in childhood and yes its similiar to Harry's but Harry always has the boy who lived tag attached to him though it makes his life miserable he is a lot better than snape who has a troubled childhood and no real friends. harry has the most loyal and loving friends in Ron and Hermonine. And i think Snape loved Lily and lost her to james and thats one reason he seems to almost hate Harry b'cos Harry reminds him og how much he lost.

I'm so tempted to tell you what happened to Snape in the end. Have you read the book yet? if you haven't don't read further..
Severus, Lily and Petunia actually grew up together. Snape's 'biggest love' was lily, that's why he was so bitter and angry at harry's dad. That's all i'm telling. I hope you'll read the book soon, it really was worth waiting. I also answered somebody's post about snape, and her predictions were right on the dot.

Snape is for sure going to play an important role in book 7 though its very difficult to say whether snape is on good side or the voldy side. Also u mentioned another good poin here-his connection with Lily. I m sure JK had some relation between Lily and Snape in her mind. But all the mystery will be revealed on 21st. One thing more-JK has already said that we will know more about harry potter parents in the seventh book.
