Some relief from the heat

The past month or so has been really hot more so the past couple weeks around here. Tempatures in the 100's and lows only in the high 60's to 70's range. No real relief at night. Let me tell you its been miserable since we don't have any AC and rely on fans to cool us down, which doesn't do much when temps are so high all the time. Last night/early this morning we finally got some. It started out with hail and then thunder and lighting. Then got very muggy more so then it was and electricty went out. About an hour after the electricty got back on it finally started to cool down with the heavy rain we got. And today has been so nice, the sun is trying to peak through, but I don't think its going to make it. Thank goodness or at least enough to get it really warm to be uncomfortable. I have so been enjoying today. Its so nice to be comfortable for once. Hows your weather? Are you getting the heat too? When was your last rain?

Well today it was so hot and humid you could swim through the air. It was just awful, so I stayed in the whole day. But just now we had a really sweet thunderstorm blow through, soon as the rain stops I think I will head out to the porch for some air cause I can already tell the temp has droped.

I wonder if we live around the same region, it has been miserably hot and muggy the air has felt heavy of rain for a few weeks, but it just never came. Finally, yesterday we got the lightening and such - but the rain still was not coming. I went to the laundry mat to wash clothes as our machine went kaput, hung them out on the line - went inside to veg as that is about all I can do in this mugginess, and the rains came. Today is so nice, I do not know the temp, but the humidity is significantly lower - I even put some sausage bread in the oven. We also do not have A.C. and I generally avoid using the oven during the hot months.

Oh believe me I know what you mean with the heat. It's been miserable here in Florida. We had no rain for the longest time and the heats have been miserable. Our house even with a/c in the late afternoon has been nasty. We have no trees about, wish we did but the house came with none for shade, and the sun just beats in. So we've been having high temperatures but also high humidity. Lot of thunder and ligtening but no rain with it. It was miserable. Finally though yesterday it really broke. The temps dropped and it's been raining. We've even been able to shut off the a/c for a bit yesterday and today. I just hope it continues.

I live in a very dry area, so rarely have any rain. My weather is mild most of the year with the sun out and that includes December. We don't have seasons like most people in the United States, as its usually between 60 and 70 degrees.

We had a short, very heavy rain here yesterday. It usually only rains after dark here, though. But it does rain a lot during the summer. The temperature here has been upper 80s all week and all last week pretty much. Today it only got up around 82 or so, but all weekend and next week it's supposed to be closer to 100. I'm not looking forward to it. We don't have central air at our house. We just have a couple of window units, and we have to leave one at the old house until we get everything cleaned up. It's going to be the last thing to go. U run the other AC for a couple of hours every evening to help cool down the new house. And then put the fan on at night. During the day we're gone for the most part, trying to get this place finished up. We weren't very prepared for this move, even though we knew it was coming. lol We've been recycling the same boxes, so I have to unpack everything before we get another load. The nice thing about that is that I can leave the AC running all the time at the old house, because we don't have to pay for the electricity. lol It makes it nice and cool here. We do have a family room set up in the basement at the new house, though. So it stays pretty cool down there, so when we are there during the day, we just stay down there and unpack stuff or play or whatever. I'm really happy about that.

It is very hot here. About 100, and it is sunny. And I am so thankful it is sunny. I don't want any rain. We just went through 23 straight days of rain, with floods all over the state. Driving down the road, ditches are still full of standing water - better watch the mosquitos, huh? : )
