This seems to be a controversial topic. What do you think about genetic engineering. Is it something scientists should be doing, something our governments should be funding. Would you eat genetically engineered food? Should we genetically engineer animals?

I think it is a disservice to humans. No, I will not eat genetically engineered foods!

Sure, I know about the "no tell" business - which is why I carefully select my foods and prefer growing for my consumption those foods that I can grow. I am also of the persuasion that all these Hi-Tech manipulations are actually geared towards controlling societies and hopefully rendering people docile.

We are already eating genetically engineered food. A lot of our crops (especially things like wheat, corn, soy, etc) have already been gentically engineered to increase yield and make the crops more disease and pest resistant.
So far, they haven't made any major mistakes; but, it is just a matter of time before someone does make a big mistake.

I think it should be encourage as it is a new field of study where our life is really being studied deeply how it really works. It will contribute further in advancement on how we really know ourselves as a living being.
In this field of study we have discovered so many things that can help us better ourselves in terms of diseases like cancer diabetes and many other disease that hound us for centuries.
