Maybe that's why I haven't got far in my work life. The boss is human and so cannot always be right.

I agree. Bosses can't possibly be always right. It is in our culture to question the decisions of some bosses.

As a human, I will never assume that I am always right. However, I do understand that there are some cultures which still consider the Boss is always right. Some people in such cultures are still applying to "yes sir or yes ma'am" attitudes. In such environment, subordinates or employees can't ask or can't discuss things in questions to the boss because it may be considered as a rude attitude.

He may be wise but may not be right all the time. There is no harm in questioning his decisions if you are able to i.e. immediate supervisor.

I didn't follow this maxim, so I didn't succeed in my career as much as I could have. I don't believe the boss is always right. In fact, I rebelled against bosses. I was a primary school teacher for 22 years, & was very successful in that regard. I had a few minor promotion positions, but didn't go to Deputy level.

Dear Sukar794, You are right by Accepting Boss is always right. It is a better way to maintain cordial relationship with boss. What I do, I will tell him tat is he always he is right. But without hurting his feeling I will prove to him always he is wrong. By this method I maintain a good relationship but also making him inferior to me. Therefore, my boss never tells me that he is right. He started first asking my opinion
