Some people prefer things burnt. When I make cookies for my Uncle I always make him a special burnt batch.

Hey. Why do toasters always have a setting?... This is why, so my weird aunty will know that her toast are exactly how she likes them "Burnt"... Terrible but true... I have an aunty that will go out of her way to burn the toast, because thats how she likes them, and trys to make us all believe they are wonderful lol, Im so over burnt toast, I would never think about feeding it to my children... No ways...

That's good, I'm sure the kids are happy you don't give them burnt toast.

You might be surprised at what people will eat - my husband likes his toast almost charcoal. I personally like my browned just enough to melt the butter. It's all a matter of personal taste - but there is sure is a lot of fighting in my house about 'who moved the toaster switch'. LOL

That is a good question. I wonder if there is some bizarre recipe that requires burnt bread crumbs, maybe? Either that, or there is some bread so thick that it has to go on that setting to toast it. But how would you fit bread that thick into the toaster?
What I want to know is why, when I put my frozen waffles in the toaster, they get toasty on the outside, but are cold on the inside?

Oh Yes..I've wondered about this one too! The ones I use at work have a clockwork timer for the browning control-once they're at operating temperature, anything more than a minute is singed,if not burnt-and the timer goes up to 3 minutes!-and I work with people who seem to think turning it up more makes it toast faster..
