Bombay Duck is dried fish that though it smells quite awful whilst cooking,it is very delicious when eating.

heh... I thought it was a duck that can only be found in bombay. LOL there are many dishes like that. but the only thing I can think of now is a fruit called durian which really smells bad but really tastes good according to my friends. ^__^

Hi secretbear!!!!When I was little I also thought that it was a duck,it has rather long bones so can you blame me? Had I been old enough I would have noticed that they were fish bones.Talking about fruit that smells bad but tastes good,there is another fruit called Jack fruit,I dont know if you know it, I have eaten it when I was a child but have not done so since I have grown up.I really dont remember smelling it, but know that it did taste good.However years later I read an article in a magazine where a man describes it as a fruit that when cut open...... wait for it......it smells like......."An open grave" Well I wont go along with that!!!!!LOL!!!!!

Well I guess this guy either does'nt know his jackfruit from his durian or maybe there could be something wrong with his nose.In any case his was a really rotten comment for so lovely a fruit!!!lol!!

nevertheless, his description, "an open grave", is new to me and is a good one so I think i'll be using it in the future. LOL
