morality is absolute. if something is wrong for a human being, it is wrong for all human beings. if we assume that it is wrong to hire a someone to kill another, it is always wrong. if i hire a hitman to kill bob, it is wrong. if bush hires a soldier to kill Iraqis, it is wrong. what do you think?

I agree with this post completely. Life is the single most precious thing we can ever possess and to take it away from another human being is the worst possible crime. Who made us God to decide who deserves to live and who deserves to die? I find it so weird how so many people go around claiming to be Christian, even 'pro-life', yet they have no problem with the state going around killing people. People who commit murder should be deprived of their freedom, but for the state to deprive them of their life is just sinking to the same level as them. It is hypocritical to say murder is wrong and then go ahead and murder someone! Similarly, just because someone is an evil tyrant killing many of his own people, it does not make it right to march in and kill thousands more in retaliation. It just reduces you to the same level. We should be better than that.

Both statements as written are wrong things to do, but I could see where it would be morally right to kill someone. If a person was trying to kill you or a member of your family. Or by killing the person, you would save a people, like killing Hitler before 1938 lets say. But to kill just to kill is wrong.

There was no way anyone knew before hand what Hitler really wanted to do. so he was a bad example. So let's say that there was a known killer,it would be moral to me to kill him/her.

A self defense killing is right under the law, so I guess it is right to kill then. I wouldn't want to live in a society that treats a murder, a planned killing , the same as a self defense killing, trying to preserve your life and I would add lifestyle.

but morality is absolute! the act of taking away ones life, no matter whose life, is always wrong right? if i was to kill hitler because i know that he is going to kill jews it doesnt make it RIGHT to kill does it?

The Iraqis have an army just as the United States does. When U.S. invaded Iraq, they were fighting the Iraqi army. So now you practically tell us that those Iraqi soldiers were not really soldiers, but citizens disguised as soldiers. Now if they were, then that evidence would reveal itself. There would be numerous accidents of Iraqis blowing up feet or arms, of people being blown up by puling the plug from grenades and themselves as well. But the Iraqis did a good job of blowing up jeeps carrying Marines, planes with Marines, trucks with Marines, etc. and whole platoons. Not the job of civilians but an army. So therefore it is not a case of a gangster hiring an assassin to kill an innocent. This is a war and what we have now is the winding down of one.

NO PLANES WHERE SHOT DOWN. they bombed a buncha citizens and ground army running around in circles... its like me fighting a 12 year old kid and then claiming victory for america, its sooo fkn stupid.. i never said their army is citizens, im not even talking about IRAQ.. im talking about MORALITY buddy. please re-read the post because i dont think you understand the point of this discussion, its not about politics"

you cant compare an army that has a bunch of men with AK47s from the 60s filled with sand to an army that has 30 billion dollar helicopters that can shoot 60 bullets a second..

Killing is illegal, therefore, to me, it is wrong. Would I kill in self defense? Yes, I would. If someone was threatening my child would I kill? Yes. Would I let someone kill me in order to save my childs life? In a heartbeat. Do I want to die? No, not anytime soon. lol Anyway, I am republican and i am really wondering what Bush is smoking. I dont know what that man is doing but he is destroying america by continuing onin this war. Put it this way, Bush has alot of blood on his hands and he will eventually pay for it.

The military is here to defend the country, not to necessarily kill.
