Do any of you own a Homegym? I've had two over the past few yrs and am looking to buy another one but I'm a little caught at WHAT brand I want...I'm mostly curious about the Bowflex though, I've heard/read many mixed reviews on it and was wondering if any of you have owned one and what do you think of it? Or if you didnt like it, what did you switch to if anything and what do you think of what you have now? I'm looking to buy a unit that will give me a full body workout btw

My home gym consists of a Gizelle, hand weights, wrist weights, ankle weights, rubber bands & an exercise ball & hula hoop. I have digital cable, as well and get to work out with the exercise channel & sports school. I work out 5 days a week, any vary my routine. I also do pilates. I don't feel you need a lot of expensive stuff to get in shape. It's about the plan you use. The Bowflex is a good machine though. I have a male friend who has one, and he likes it. You do however have to have a lot of room for a Bowflex as it is a big machine. I tried his out and liked it. You do have to adjust it for different exercise, and it can be time consuming. You can get a full body workout with just some simple equiptment. It is how much work you want to put into the workout.

Oh I agree for some ppl having the minimum is just fine to get in a workout and I do have my hula hoop (LOL just got that a few weeks back..I used to love doin that as a kid), my treadmill, free wts from 2.5 lbs up to 20lbs, I bike ride, do yoga and pilates and so on but none of those things are enough to give me the power workout I want ya know...I LOVED having the homegym we had back in Canada for when I wanted to get in a power strength training session - with the stuff I have for my regular workouts I just cant get that same effect if that makes sense.

Yes I hear what you are saying. I don't have room here for a home gym. So I try to find great workouts on the Exercise channel & sports school channel on our local cable network. I try to incorparate my activites, work or anything I do into an exercise.

I had a home gym a long time ago that was a bench with free weights. It was a real nuscence. I have a friend who has the Bowflex system and he loves it. It is very flexible as to the types of exercises that you can do with it. They have several different models so you need to make sure to get the one that allows you to do the types of exercises that you want to do.

Yea Ive heard that they are quite versatile thats why I'm thinkin of checking them out...but i've also heard that the way you change the resistance is a pain in the rump....I had a freewt bench yrs ago (like when I was 17) and I did like it I have to admit but these Bowflex units look pretty good too.. thanks for the input :-D
