An Early Evening Beachcombing...

Pebbled Beach - Beach... pebbled, on coast

I intended to spend a long time at the beach today, as I am starting out on a new craft project. I had intended to comb the beach for some black pebbles, if I can find enough of similar size and flat enough. Then, when gathered, the real challenge will begin. However, the day turned out much too hot for me, so I'm about to get ready and go off for an early evening jaunt, seeking that which I require from a pebbled beach around here. Of course, I will leave my gift, as always, and probably enjoy the sunset whilst I'm there.:) Have a great day all!

Sunset Over Hills - Seven Sisters Country Park sunset.
I had problems with the sunset, as by the time it was in a good position, it was behind the hills. lol. Before then, it was too bright! However, I got two or three, which weren't great, but are of the sunset. I'll put one here for you. Just ignore the orange light in the foreground... I think that was my flash coming back on me! Brightest Blessings, my friend. xx

Phew... it's so hot here, I couldn't go out any earlier. My fair skin, you know... I go red and break out in freckles normally, but the last couple of days, I seem to have tanned some... even my face! You can find the jet on Whitby beach... I brought one home before, but can't find it down here. That's another story though which I need to put in another discussion. lol. I got home just before nine this evening, shattered. :) I could buy them in the hobbycraft shop, but I wanted to collect them myself... it means more and gives them more power for me. I left my gift to balance the energies, and came home satisfied with my evening's work. Brightest Blessings. xxx

Too hot for me, Gabs. Phew... but we're going to lose a few degrees tomorrow. It's been in the 30s and that's just a tad too much for me. That's why I left it till later in the day! Take care, Gabs... I hope that you'll be feeling a lot better tomorrow. Love and hugs. xxx

Collecting black pebbles on a beach has to be a doddle. The only problem is the weight that would be involved to carry them back home. If you live quite near, then several journays would make the job easier plus make you more fit and healthy in the process. Have a nice black pebble hunt day from Deeeky.

Seven Sisters Country Park - Seven Sisters Country Park... halfway approximately, to the beach.
Phew... a doddle you reckon? lol. If you saw where I went and how far I had to walk to find the pebbles then I think you would consider it a little more of a task! I went to Seven Sisters Country Park, where the river meanders up from the sea, across two miles of flat landscape, and then on its way across country. Yes, two miles walk to the beach, and then half a mile of pebble treading to find what I wanted. Then began the two mile trek back, pebbles in tow, but I loved it... the place is special. The stones are grey, rather than black, and some have either a rusty vein, or a white vein in them, so first, I'll need to paint them black before I even start doing what I want to do to them. But, it was all worthwhile. Yesterday, I found my new staff, and today, my new mobile altar.:) Plus, I had two wonderful walks, which annoyed my knee a bit, but who cares? I succeeded! Brightest Blessings my friend... I'm glad to see you're ok... haven't seen you around today, at all. x

Now that sounds like a fabulous idea - all the fun and no sunburn! I already know that you found your pebbles - that'll serve me right for reading discussions the wrong way round - oops! lol xxx

Hi Sweets, I have found nice driftwood that I have used for different projects at the shores of Lake George and Lake Champlain. I live in a town that lies between the two and I can easily walk to either from my home. I once collected pebbles and made the coolest houses. I filled them with earth and planted vines and the vines spilled out the windows and doors. I gave them as gifts. Thanks for reminding me Doll Love u xoxoxoxo

Wow... that sounds nice. I think you might be a little proud of your work on the houses. I'm in need of some cuts of wood, but rather than go cut them from the living forest, I have spoken with the local tree surgeon, who is also a friend. He's going to get me my cuts of wood... that's if he remembers... I feel a reminder coming on tomorrow. lol. Brightest Blessings my dear friend... love you too. xxx
