mri vs mammogram

I read (scanned) a report on 7online today that there is evidence suggesting an MRI may be better than a mammogram in detecting early bre ast cancer. I find this very unsurprising because I have always wondered why the mammogram (which is such an old technology in comparison to other techniques) was still being touted as the best defence when it really isn't the most efficient in detection. I am glad they finally have some evidence to show that there is something better out there. I hope that the mri becomes more routine as a detection tool than the mammogram and helps saves more lives.
