I'm trying to hide a chicken pox scar. Need help!

I have a chicken pox scar just behind my ear and it's really visible when I wear my hair up in a pony tail. I've never received any kind of negative comments over it, but I'm very self concsious about the mark. For awhile, I didn't even know it was a scar, I just thought it was a small imperfection. But, then a friend pointed it out and I remembered that I'd had it ever since I had chicken pox when I was six years old. Even though it's not really visible from the front, I'd still like to cover it up. On hot summer days when you have to wear your hair up, there's no way to use hair to hide it. I'm thinking about buying Dermablend or some other type of concealer to cover it up. Does anyone have suggestions on how to cover a chicken pox scar? Are there any type of natural homemade remedies that might work to reduce the blemish? Also, has anyone tried Dermablend or other name brand concealer that might work for the problem. Would love to get some feedback on this subject.

As far i know abt chicken pox, its comes in childhood, even ive also in my childhood plus in school days. there is foundation cream for that so that there not leave any visible scare as foundation cream if used regularly lesson the visibility of scare, otherwise also there is no need to worry as this is consider tobe good sign as this means releasing the excess heat effect of the body. rest doctor can tell you properly.

Yes, that is definitely when I got the chicken pox! Me and my brothers got it at the same time. Of course that was almost thirty years ago! Thank you for the tip on the foundation. I will look for it or ask my dermatologist.

I also have a scar out from chicken pox and I even have a bigger scar on my forehead just like Harry Potter's.LOL Its there for sometime but my friends dont seem to notice and I dont also give attention to it. Its been like a part of my face that I can no longer change. Pimles are the worst things that really bothers me and Im glad that I dont have them like many others do. I dont feel good when I have even just one pimple on my face, the pain is so concentrated on that area and it makes me sick.

Often when I get a pimple due to hormones the pain is very intense. Fortunately I am way past the time when pimples were a daily event. One of the things that I found to work for me was to avoid the so called "acne" cosmetics. They are just too harsh and slightly medicinal. They punish the skin. Instead, I would use sensitive skin cosmetics and foundations. Once I started that my skin started to heal and I rarely got pimples. And, I learned to throw out my foundations and blushes after two to three months of use. Perhaps you do the same and that is why you are blessed with few pimples. Good for you! Be well. Thanks for dropping by.

Have you ever used a powder/foundation in your makeup routine? I use a Maybelline compact with both powder and foundation combined. If you put a little on the scar, it will blend right in, and with the powder added, the application is less likely to run in the heat.

Band-aid Scar Healing strips - These are supposed to help diminish the look of scars.
I would suggest trying one of the new scra diminishing products, like the new bad-aid brand scar healing strips. I will attach a picture of the box below.

Are you against tattoo? My sister has a nice tattoo (3 little stars) just behind her ear. It is nice since she only uses her hair in a pony tail when she is not working, so no one can really see it. Anyway, I wouldn't be so annoyed by this little scar. Think of it as a mark that only you have. I have a scar in my forehead and it is not seen unless I have my hear in a pony tail. Even in these case usually people won't notice. When they do notice I tell them about an accident that I had when I was 2 years old. It becomes a topic for conversation and people share their adventures when they were little.

I think using a concealer's a good idea but as the others suggest, maybe it's not as noticeable as you think it is. Perhaps you can wear dangling earrings so the attention would be on the earrings instead of the scar? You're lucky because the chicken pox scar is behind your ear; mine's right on my cheek!
