Counting The Days, How Do You Count Yours?

I know I have been away for so long! But I really really miss you all, and now that I don't have internet at home I have to rely on using it Tuesdays at college and a few odd hours here and there at the local library!I am still POSITIVE, excited and scared, because it is a massive massive radical change in my life that I am making I have now got 47 days to go till I make my big leap of faith! I have marked my diary counting down to 7th October I have also started counseling but already I am halfway there! At home he is behaving himself and being very very warm, caring and supportive but I know he is hellbent on keeping me there, don't worry, been there before, and got the t-shirt which is well worn! I have shut down my emotions and I have become a cold 'fish' but it is my survival mechanism, any crack in my defence armour will be used. He is transparent and very predictable which can be very useful indeed!Apologies for not being around but I've got so much to sort out between now and October the time is flashing by sooooooooo quickly! So how do you count your days to a special event, holiday or occasion. Do you cross the days off the calendar, do you keep post it notes on fridges or do you just count the weeks and that's it!

Good to hear from you mate, and very glad you're sounding up-beat! I wish i was organised enough to count the days down. I procrastinate, then distract myself, the ignore things, then procrastinate some more. Before I know it that 'big day' is only a day or two away and i run around like a blue-@rsed fly getting everything together!

I'm finding confidence buried I didn't know I had, you don't realize just how much needs to be done before making a big move! Glad I gave myself the amount of time to sort stuff out! Hope you are well too my good friend.

i havent been on here in ages either not since the kids hijacked the computer for the summer. the weather was so bad as we all know they had no choice but to stay in. i had lots of (yuk)weddings to go to as well. i only go to family ones cos i think theyre a waste of a day. unromantic i am. anyway to answeer the question i like to bok things way in advance so i have something to think about and look forward to. then i savour the looking forward to bit by thinking about the event. if i have nothing to look forward to i fret and thats not good. at the minute i have booked next years holiday. i also like christmas so ill look forward to it and my holiday. i didnt get a hol this year so cant wait for the sun.

I knew you went on retreat but thought you would have been back already- I didn't realize you removed your computer already. Glad to hear you are on the mend and still upbeat - I do hope everything works out for you. As for counting the days...I recently planned a 4 mini vacation for me and my husband for our 25th anniversary...but it's a surprise so I have to keep count in my head....LOL I'm not going to tell him till the day before we leave....(so long as I can keep my big mouth shut). LOL I missed your stories while you were away and I am looking forward to your new adventure stories when you get settled, but don't keep us in suspense- drop in now and then and give us updates!!!

Hi there Wolfie, good to see you here again. I am thinking of you hun, and know that you can take that leap of faith. Counting the days, oh yes, I count the days. I have a calender on the wall next to my desk and make notes on it for all sorts of things. I will often put a line through as the days pass by towards something really special, I find it helps to keep my head clear and my life organised. It's always good to be positive and focus on the good things to come. *hugs*

Thank you! It's a big big risk, but then isn't life a risk? I am stepping out of my comfort zone and leaving the home I've had for the last three years, if it wasn't for my housemate I would be very very happy there. Hugs returned xx

Wolfie- I wondered where you were and what you had been up to! I thought maybe you were still on your retreat- Why no more internet access at home?? Because of the move? I hope you are still holding strong- You go for it- Do not let him bring you down- or keep you there! I usually just keep on going- status quo—and try not to think about how close the event is- My daughter crosses off the days on the calendar!

I cross days off the calendar but if I'm really impatient to get there, I find keeping busy....really busy....is the best way to make the time pass quickly....44 days to go and counting...lol.

My dear dear wolfie. I have missed you so very much. I know how you feel aboiut the computer situation as right now I am having a few problems myself. It has gotten better. I am in Arizona and EVERYTHING is going good for me. I have had many people help me and I am looking for work. I WILL have a job soon, I just know it. I did count the days till I left for Arizona. I was so depressed and down and felt stuck where I was. Now, I can get out and do whatever I like. I am still poor but I'm happier here. I am sure your life will change for the better too Wolfie. I just want you to know that I love ya and I know things will get better for you. XXX to my favorite wolfie.

I haven't managed to get on MyLot much recently but have been thinking of you. I am glad your plans are going well. You are a few days closer than when you started this discussion so getting nearer all the time. I only mark off the days in my head. Best wishes
