Some looney misguided wackos here at myLot have been trying to convince people global warming is not man made. Now, at an official US government web site, no less, is posted information alledging these delusional individuals at myLot are right. Supposedly global warming really is not man made. Can we trust the government? Read the info at this link:

What do you say? Is the government's position as given at this web site possibly correct? Do you think global warming is not man made?

I have been saying all along that Man Made Global Warming is nothing more than political and media hype over something that is not occurring.
Global Warming is nothing more than a natural part of the earths warming and cooling cycles.
This article pretty much puts it all in perspective, however I did notice in the links at the end of that article that some congressmen are proposing a $4500 Climate Tax for everyone in order to fight Global Warming.
That is what this is really all about anyway...it is merely a cheap and dishonest trick to wrest more money from individuals and business under the guise of protecting the environment.
Global Warming is NOT man made.

"Global Warming is NOT man made."
I would say not only is it not man made, we could not warm the earth if we tried. The number of BTU's required to raise the mass of the earth and its atmosphere even 1 degree would surely be beyond the capacity of mankind to generate energy. This leaves only changing the radiative forcing value of the atmosphere to trap in more of the sun's energy. The problem with this is that the atmosphere is not uniform in its composition. It is a mix that is never completely "mixed". As the atmosphere changes in composition in one area it affects other areas. Imagine trying to dig a hole on the surface of the ocean! This is what we are trying to do by increasing the insulative value of the atmosphere with green house gas. Everything gets mixed, flows, alters with other components, and everything interacts. All these interactions moderate the temperature of the earth.
This leaves the overall radiative forcing value of the atmosphere practically unchanged from any efforts of mankind.
Anyway, it is pretty much obvious to serious scientists and now thanks to the internet, these honest scientists dare to speak out.

Did anyone posting here happen to watch 60 Minutes on Sunday? It was a rerun, no doubt, since all the network shows are right now, but I hadn't seen it before. Anyway, they showed a spot in Antarctica where several years ago it was covered with snow and now it's GREEN. I didn't think green grass existed in Antarctica. There are 1000 feet of water where a glacier was about 10 years ago. I'm far from being a scientist so bear with me, but they drilled way down deep into the ice so they could analyze the content of greenhouse gasses through the years and there was a direct link between the increase of those gasses and the industrial revolution. The penguin population has been reduced by 70% in the past decade. I say global warming is at least partially man made and to deny it is simply to decide not to even try to do anything about it! Maybe it's too late but I'd like to try to make a tiny bit of difference for the sake of my grandkids and their children.

The problem anniepa, is that no one has made one suggestion that Antartica is warming, in fact, the temperature on Antartica has been steady for at least 50 years and the ice sheet is increasing. There have always been spots on Antartica that are snow-less, places where lichen grow (probably the green you saw).
The reason you were shown some green patch of Antartica is that the media wants you to think that global warming is melting the poles and we will all die unless we buy carbon offsets from Al Gore and promise Sheryl Crow to use only one sheet of toilet paper per bathroom visit.
There may be some natural and periodic warming at the north pole but melting Arctic sea ice will never raise sea levels, it is already in the water and displacing its own volume. The sea will not rise if it melts.
The whole thing is a scam and a hoax designed to scare people into paying a lot of extra taxes and cementing Al Gore's place in history.

Well, I am proud to own the title as a looney misguided wacko here at myLot. I have no problem saying that global warming has absolutely nothing to do with mankind. Now if people out there want to blame themselves, well go right ahead, makes me no difference. Just leave me out of it. I haven't caused the Polar Ice caps in the North or South Pole to melt. I am not at fault for the earth's temperature rising over the past 20 years, 1 degree. I have no problem trusting the government as long as it is ran by Republicans.

Well, at least they aren't still trying to deny global warming exists.
We all know the government "blows with the wind" and whichever direction the political wind is blowing is the direction they will go, whether they are right or not, and whether they accomplish anything or not.
Personally, I say we didn't start it; but, what we have been doing to the environment is speeding global warming up and making it happen faster than the natural process.
