I do think the reforming is best part but just punishing may not make these prisoner or crimnals to change their behavious. It their mind that has to be changed were these punishment has to be eliminated in unnessary forms if they want the prisoner or criminals to be changed. After the prison punishment they may take the same profession they had before. So they are definetly to reformed they have to be changed to a better person and let them out the world.

The modern theory of handling prisioners always moots an idea of treating them in part with other citizens in all respects, keep open prison, provide them with sports facility, good food, of course some work, exercise, cultural programme etc. all in the process of reforming the prisioners. But this is leading to taking advantage of the situation and there are some prisoners who avail extra ordinary services like liquors, mobile phones, good food from restaurants by bribing the prison staff. There is one prison in Bellary, Karnataka where the prisoners go out in the day and come back in the night. During day time, they carry out their normal work!! What a reform it is!!

Hi,
That very nice, still prisoners are to catorgorised by expert members. So as their degree of character should be analysed if they want to reform them and give them and society a better world. Hope this may achieve. More over the fact is that this cannot be done in every prisoners, but those a try can be give to them and those changed should be given a better situation so that other prisoner will alos be motivated. May this is be done by those who are well in handling human minds.

You are right. Those who are at the threshold of reformation are provided with magazines, books and also writing material. Because there are some poets and writers among the prisoners. One minister even promoted a drama among the prisoners and they enacted beautifully.
