My wife has eaten the last of the grapes off of my new grapevine I had planted. I did not get to eat ONE single grape off this vine. They're were a total of only 4 clusters with maybe 10 grapes per cluster. So for the first years growth it did fairly well. They're were other clusters also but due to the high heat humidity & dryness this summer they died off a week or so ago. I am looking forward to a decent size group of grapes next year. The vine has tripled at least in size since I planted it a few months ago. Guess my green thumb is at work as usual huh? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Don't you hate when that happens... I've never planted any grapes though but other things I have and when I go to pick them they are gone.. Grr makes me upset.. My husband will sit and laugh and say what I though you already picked some and had some... Of course I never did...

Yeah I hated it. I asked what happened and she said flat out, they were good. HAHAHAHA!!

We don't get to eat the grapes off our vine either. The dogs get them. The little mini fox terrier looks funny carrying around a bunch of grapes in her mmouth. Apparently grapes are quite toxic to dogs, so warn Buster off your vine. Congratulations on growing a successful grape vine.

I've never had a problem with Buster in my gardens at all. He didn't bother the grapevine all year either. So that's a good thing anyhow. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

You gotta git while the gitten is good. The way I see it "you snooze-you loose". Good luck next time. If your house is anything like my house. You can't wait if you want to eat it.

It sounds like they must have been some good grapes that your wife got to eat. Maybe you'll get some next time. I would love to just have a garden but I just don't have the green thumb for it.

Seems I do have a green thumb. I drop it in the ground water it and they grow. No fertilizer or foods. Good soil I guess helps it seems. I yelled at her when she ate the first one saying to save me some. Then the nasty weather shriviled the remaining grapes and I never got a single grape. Uggg! She won't be eating them all next year. Wow, that sounds like a good crop for a first year plant! I am very envious of your grape vine, I dearly love grapes! You must truly have a large, dark green thumb! I bet next year the vines will really do well if they tripled in size this year!

A Green Thumb? - I don't think so. Does it appear green in this picture?
You decide. From this photo it doesn't appear too big to me. Nor is it anywhere near green. HAHAHA! Had to take this shot just for the penny. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

It reminds me of the year my dad's greenhouse was full of grapes and he was waiting for them to attain their full ripeness and would check daily and we were all excited as they looked sooo good, alas a raccoon or three got in through the roof and ate every last grape. What a disappointment to all. Luckily there is always next year in gardening!

I had racoons for a bit here. My dog Buster ran them off and I haven't seen one all year now. So that's not going to be a problem. I hope. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Well next year the deer will get them. And neither of you will get any. I have lost much to much vegetation to our wildlife firends.
