Hi there everyone, I would really appreciate if anyone can help me up setting up some type of wireless connection with my pc. Here's the scenario: I live in a small complex were there's one house in front of the other, they're like 10 yards apart. Both places are property of my family. I have a laptop and it's connected to a cable modem in one of the houses. On the other house, I have another PC and a laptop with wifi capability (just the laptop). How can I set up the cable modem, along with the computers in the other house in order to receive internet connection from one house to the other without any 30ft cables hanging out from the window? With the variables mentioned: 10 yards house apart from the other one Cable modem on one house One laptop with network adaptor and wifi capability in one house One PC with network adapter and one laptop with network adapter and wifi capability on the other house With the situation given, can it be done? How can I set up connection to both places? What should I need to purchase to hook a wireless connection? Any, but absolutely any type of help, assistance, opinion will be really appreciated. You have a great day and hope to hear soon from you !!

Hi I just recently bought a new laptop and its great infact im using it right now. Although i am not using wireless internet right now i have and its very easy. The first thing you need to do is purchase a router you can get a nice decent one for about $30.00 then once you have the router all you need to do is connect it to your cable modem. Now depending on the router you bought you will be able to go on the internet through this new connection within a certain distance many modems will work your situation.

Lets say you now have a router hooked up to a pc in one of your homes now and you want to get that connection in the other house: The computer(s) in the house without the router have to catch the signals now, most of the new laptops and pc's have built in network adpators and i think one of your computers in the non-router house has one. Simply scan for connection now and once yours shows up select it and your down. Now your second pc which seems to me doesnt have a built in network adaptor can also use the same connection heres how: you must purchase a network adaptor for it please note you can also purchase a wireless usb adaptor which will catch the signl as well and simply is placed in a usb port. Check out more info on the wireless usb adaptor visit the below website and you can purchase one at any major electronic/computer store http://www.dlink.ca/product.php?PID=172 the one listed and features is about $80.00 but you can purchase a nice decent one at about $15-30

Go out and purchase Wireless Linksys Broadband Router. Get a 2.4 Ghz Wireles-G Broadband Router. It runs about $65.00. This should give you a connection of 250 ft raduis around your house. You can set-up security on this router for your use only.
