Hi peanutjar!
Honestly I could care less if someone has been baptized or not. What someone believes is not who they are as a person, their is more to a person then just that. My parents never baptized my brother and I. They always said that when we were old enough we could chose what we wanted to believe, they didn't want to make that choice for us like their parents did. I really respected my parents for that, and I will do the same for my daughter! When she is ready she can decide it for herself!

Exactly! I feel the same way, and if my daughter decides when she is ready to be a certain religion then I will support her 100%. I'm not going to ram it down her throat. My parents let me decide and I in return will let my daughter decide!

My grand-parents never baptized me either.I feel there is no difference.I believe and that.My daughter is not either.Im leaving this up to her to do when SHE is ready and if,to choose her own religion for herself, instead of me doing it for her.:)

There is no infant baptism in the Holy Bible. All those who were baptized are grown-ups capable of understanding and in fact they first heard of the good news and they were taught before they were baptized. Infant baptism is a doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church which is in the Catechism.

We didn't have my son baptized, and while he might be something of a pain sometimes, he's certainly not unholy. We did have a Unitarian Universalist dedication for him, but that didn't dedicate him to any specific faith, just to the community.
I don't really like the idea of doing those types of things for kids before they're old enough to understand. My son can be initiated into whatever religion he chooses when he is older and chooses one. =)

I don't really think about it. I think it's a personal choice. I was baptized and christened as a Catholic as a baby even though I don't follow their teachings now. I believe in God, Heaven, Hell and Prayer.

I feel that everyone comes to their realization in their own time, so I don't judge if a person is not baptized. Maybe they are such big belivers in mainstream religion, or maybe their parents weren't into it so they were never taught. It all comes down to "Judge not lest ye be judged." I don't feel that I am better than a person just because I have been baptized in a particular faith and they haven't. If it is meant for them, and they listen to their heart, the Lord will speak to them when its time. I only put stock in the way a person is, not what they have and haven't done in their lives, just if they are a good person at heart.

Baptism means nothing to me! I have absolutely no feelings about it. If it means something to you, By all Means Go for it. For me its just about as necessary as Circumcision, or a chance to win the Lottery.
