Deep Fried Turkey

I was given one of those outdoor deep fry pots for turkeys and was wondering if anyone has ever deep fried a turkey or as the book suggests a pork roast. I would like to know how it was and if it took longer to cook then the recommended time in the book. I figure the pot would be good to cook a big batch of corn as well.

I wasn't actually involved with the cooking portion of the deep fried turkey that I tried, but I can tell you that it is definitely very tasty. I do know that it is fairly dangerous to cook with those deep fry pots, so be careful, no matter what you choose to cook!

I have never heard of those pots, but I love turkey, and I love deep fried foods. I bet turkey would taste really good that way. My fiance is a gourmet, and knows all kinds of cool ways to prepare my favourite foods. I'll have to let him know about this one. Thanks for sharing.
