I can't take it, I want to sink my teeth into something!!! After a long day, my fiance and I just wanted to sit down together, and watch Frasier. Well Lifetime network here in Sedona Arizona is having some sort of problem, and Frasier is on, but there is no damn sound. That's absolutely maddening. We sat there and watched the mutted version, and actually figured out which episode it was, if you can believe it. I guess you know now, just how well we know the show. LOL
When I figured it out I became even more annoyed, because it was an episode I really really wanted to see.
The stations never fail in Canada. Cable companies know what they'e doing, where I come from.

ElicBxn. As Vladilyich said, we're both nearly blind. I thought of that last night, and it was at that moment we both realized why we like Frasier so much; the show is not the least bit visual!!!

I'm sorry, I didn't realize. Sometimes my roomie puts on closed captioning, but she sits about 18 inches from the tv when she does.
With our cable, the picture digitizes before the sound goes out so the closed captioning doesn't work it the cable is acting up.

Oh yeh..thats really annoying dear! It makes you really feel mad and mad and mad. Especially if you've waited to watch that show/movie. But ofcourse life or situation is really like that. YOu can't avoid it sometimes.. so just be patient and try to understand. good day!:-)

Thanks for the comment. I don't believe in being patient. LOL If I spent all my life being patient and waiting, I'd have a lot of repressed emotion waiting to blow out of me. LOL Thanks for the response.

I'm sorry my friend.....I didn't want it but I laugh a lot reading your post.I know you have your disappoint for not watching the show but I just had a very difficult day with some family problems and when I came here to read your discussion I find it funny and make me laugh (I just don't know why)
At least you lost the show but you made my day (I hope you aren't made with me now).

There are times when my cable has went out on me, altogether. But I do not remember losing just the sound to a show. That would annoy me also. I think that if it were one of my favorite episodes of a show, I would have done the same thing, hoping the sound would come in at some point.

Thanks for your reply. Like I said, this kind of thing never happens to me at home in Canada, but since I've arrived in Arizona, it's happened to me twice; once while watching MSNBC when the sound was out for an entire night, and tonight with Frasier. I hope they'll have it fixed by morning.

You don't have monsoons, only snow! Here we get 115F heat, 5F cold, and total monsoons during the summer. Infrastructure of networking (including cable TV) really has to struggle to keep up with weather.

I get more annoyed when the sound is off by a few seconds and you get the feeling like you are watching a bad Godzilla movie.

Yeah, I hate when that happens. I am beginning to hate our cable company. Our cable goes out every once in a while except we don't get the picture like you did. We just get the fuzzy black and white screen. We also have internet through our cable company and I swear it goes out at least once a day. I hate it so bad and sometimes I just want to scream. I was working online and it would go out while I was on the phone with someone while I was taking their orders. It was so annoying. And when I call they say it is the cable box I have and for me to bring it up there during their business hours. I don't think it's my cable box, I think they just don't know why it's doing that and that is their only excuse for me. Plus, I want to tell them that I can't bring it up there during business hours because I work the same hours they are open. So annoying!!

We dont have cable so I have no idea how they even work. We have a dish. It is pretty dependable unless we get a major storm. Then it may not come through for a while but that does not happen too often.

I have had the problem regularly since we changed to digital cable...you know the wave of the future that costs more and is a giant step backward.
My digital picture frequently freezes and goes to weird little boxes, or the sound goes away for a time from minutes to hours.
I think it is the new technology is still full of bugs..btw are you using time-warner?

I remember when the PBS channel would show the programming, but the sound was a radio station. It was SO weird. It actually turned out to be a setting on my cable box that was mucking it all up. So i changed it, and everything worked just fine.
We moved to a new house and there is NO cable available to us. We could get satellite TV, but it's expensive. So we decided NOT to have TV at all. And I really appreciate my life much better without TV! AND I've lost weight, because I spend more time outside than ever before! WAHOO!

I did the same thing a few weeks ago with 'Little House on the Prairie' - I think I know all the shows word for word. It is annoying when it's something you don't know well and really want to both hear and see :)
