Another Huge Toy Recall

Well folks, it seems that there is to be another huge toy recall. This one following so closely on the heels of the last one is just too much. I don't know where it will end, or if it will end. These toys were all produced in China. Personally, I will say once more that they should pull all of the contracts out of China and give the work to people who are more trustworthy.

The last recall I heard was for pencils. I probably should have written down the brand name and checked my kids' pencils but I am guessing their packaging is long gone. I'll just make sure my kids don't chew on their pencils. That's a hard one as even adults do that. About giving the work to people who are more trustworthy, I would like the work given to people in our own countries. They say the prices will shoot up because in China they pay a pittance to children to do the work. I think we should go back a couple of centuries and make our own toys.

Yes, patgalca, as I have stated in previous posts, by rights, the work should be offered to people right here in our own country, but the greedy companies are not willing to pay fair wages to have the work done properly. I am thinking that pressure is going to placed upon them in the near future to make them do what is right.

I heard that. I also heard that someone in china hacked into our Pentagons computers. Really makes you wonder if it has been done on purpose and for a special reason.

You are right, Thoroughrob, we certainly do not know the motives behind everything China does. It just seems like too many bad things are coming from there for it not to be a concerted effort.

I think that simplicity in toys may be the answer here in keeping our kids safe. Crayons, paper, balls made of rags. Help kids make toys out of stuff that was not a toy at one time. Children are loosing their imaginations, and now with all these recalls, perhaps more. * Crayons create worlds on paper. The paper can be lined, or the scrap typewriter stuff, anything for coloring on. I remember balls made of rags we played ball with when I was a kid. Or dress up, or "kitchen" with pots and pans the parents weren't using. What happened to those simpler, safer days?

Is that the Barbie one? I just heard about that and started to panic! It really is quite scary that when it comes to the toys our children play with we cannot be sure if they are even safe! I think I will make a rag doll and start making my own books for my daughter at least there would be a chance she could play with them without any real danger! xxx
