privacy issues

If you shop online, do you pay attention to the privacy policies of the online stores where you shop to see which ones share your information a bit too much or which ones are more careful and respectful of the privilege they have been granted? Do you have stores you prefer because they have a privacy policy that suits your preferences? I was about to purchase something at Target when they invited me to sign in with my Amazon info and then I was led to a page which explained that the two stores have differing privacy policies even though they allow customers to sign in at one store with the login info of the other store. What I found was that the policy at Amazon seems to be a lot more respectful of privacy issues whereas Target apparently does not discriminate much when it comes to whom they will share your information with. I didn't finish my transaction at Target...although I had initiated it simply to help my igive cause. I figured I'd have to find another online store whose privacy policy I could live with. I am surprised by Target though. I didn't expect them to have such a lax policy because I have always thought them to be ...I don't know...somewhat altruistic? I guess it was a misguided notion.
