My son is 13 and has Cerebral Palsy. Last year we had an awful time with the teacher. It seemed like she did not want to adapt things to his capabilities.
I just came from a meeting with this years teacher and she is really impressed with him. She has high hopes and is really into finding ways to get through to him. It is so neat. My son is so excited to go every day and comes home in a good mood. I really think it is what he needs.

Congrats,I had a silimalr problem a few years back, but last year and this year,my daughter has been lucky to have some really great teachers to help her through school.
It can be hard when a teacher isn't really into going what is best or what works best for your kids.
Good luck with the school year!

Well this is great news. I'm glad your son like his teacher this year. And I'm also glad he comes home to you in a good mood every day. That's always a plus right. Good luck to the both of you this year.

Does your son go to a Special schoool, or can they cater for him in an ordinary school? Some schools here in my state will cater for children with disabilities, within limits.
It is very important to have the right teacher for your son, as you have discovered. Even if a teacher is not right, you probably don't have much choice in changing teachers or even schools.
When my daughter was born, she was without oxygen for ten minutes. They said she would have cerebral palsy, but she doesn't.

That is so good, the difference a teacher can make in a kids attitude and ability to learn. And 13 is such a rough time for kids anyhow.
When my son was in 6th grade, his special ed teacher made a difference. It was the best year he ever had in school. Now he is in the Navy and he still keeps in touch with her.

I am so sorry about what happened last year and am happy that he got a better teacher this year. The last thing one needs when they are having a hard time is for someone they need to depend, to make it worse. I pray that your son is able to reach his full potential, in Jesus name, amen.

Such wonderful news! All teachers should accomodate the needs of their pupils. Not every student is the same.

That is really great for you and for your son. I know a great teacher can draw a lot out of a student and help them achieve more that you ever dream possible. Big smiles to you today. I hope the year continues on this positive note.

A good teacher can really make all the difference? I'm glad to hear your son is so happy with her and so are you. This may be exactly what he needs to "blossum". I hope the excitement and good moods continue!

Some people shouldn't go in the teaching field. I am glad to know that your son has a teacher this year that you and your son is happy with. School is suppose to be fun or that child will hate to go and never learn anything. Heck, even having a teacher you don't like can cause the same effect. Again, happy that he's in a better mood and enjoys going to school. Make sure around Christmas time, you get her something really nice to show her that you appreciate what she's doing.
