Arthritis pain relife

My mom has been diagnosed with rheumatoid and osteo arthritis. The pain in her joints has been really bad lately and as a result she is having a hard time getting out of bed some days. We've tried some over the counter things and her doctor has only told her to take motrin or tylenol arthritis for now. They don't always help. I would like to know what else, medical or holistic she can try to take away the pain.
