Pet Boarding While Away

Sometimes while my boyfriend and I are away, it is for a long enough period that we don't like to leave our dog by himself. Having said this, I would like people to share their experiences with pet boarding. WAs it worth it? How much did it cost for the day? We own a pit bull so I get really nervous that something could happen when we're not around and be blown completely out of proportion just because of his breed and how they are stereotyped. Say he did bite someone, would I be held responsible or would the people at the pet boarding business be liable? Thanks..

I board my 2 guys in a kennel, run by the vet. It usually costs almost as much for the 2 of them as it does for a hotel for us. Well close. Usually 18-20 a night, plus they charge extra to give the dogs their meds and to walk them.
It usually comes out to about 50-60 a night to board the guys, but they ar big and get big kennels, sometimes a nice vet will let them share, since they have been together for over 8 years.

We all have pets in this family so when we want to go off someplace we leave our pets with other family memebers so i don't know what to tell you..I have a cat also and i just fill up his water tower and feed tower, put out fresh litter and leave him inside, but the dog goes to one of my daughters houses....I wish i could give more information, but i cannot,sorry...

Whenever I go on trips I will have a ralative to come by the house and check on my pets and feed them and take them out. We have always have our family memmbers to watch I have never took my pets to the baording and I am sure they will take care of them but we really dont know those peole and our pets may not be too compfy there.
