This past Sunday the 16th was the most hectic, stressful and busiest day I've had in many years. I woke up with dad in a bed of his own feces and vomit. I had to keep an eye on him all day for his health. He ened up in the hospital as friends here know. It took a couple hours to get him cleaned and the room as well. Then I was busy putting in a new exterior and interior door on my back porch. Then I still managed to get some great shots of my seedums amidist all this going on around me Sunday. My seedums are finally a beautiful pink color. The honey bees are swarming them sucking up the delicious nectar from the buds. I counted as many as 5 at one time on the same cluster. It was a beautiful sight. I've a few photos to share in this discussion. This photo attached has a honey bee dead center in the photo. Just wanted to share this as I am now feeling up to doing a bit here on mylot for a change. Thanks all and enjoy the photo. Please check it out and maybe even leave a comment on the photo. HAPPY POSTINGS & GARDENING FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Hi, Webeishere. First of all, my hat's off to you for taking care of your father. It takes a lot of patience and sacrifice to take care of sick or aging person. I guess having such a beautiful sight in your garden was God's way of brightening up your day. Your seedums are beautiful (although I am not familiar with the plant).

Thanks bunches. Seedums have a leaf like appendage that is similiar in feel to succulent plants like cactus. No pokey things though. Hahaha!!They are a fall bloomer not showing there colorfulness till Septemebr and later. The ones I have are a ground cover being only about 10 inches tall. God has granted me a green thumb as well it seems. Thanks. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Thanks for describing the seedums for me, Grandpa Bob! It is indeed great that you are blessed with a green thumb...and you share this gift well to others...wonderful plants you have. As for me, I haven't been too successful with succulents though.

This is very, very pretty, a beautiful photo which I rated, & wrote a comment. It's amazing that you managed to do all this, what with your father going to hospital, etc. Still, gardening & photos are a good way to take your mind off things.

Yes, the sedum at my job are looking quite nice. They have some over a foot tall, and others that are about nine inches or less. They are two different shades of rosy pink. My variegated sedum is not getting enough sun, I bet, as it did not bloom. I like the looks of the cream and green leaves. I also saw something that I know is related, called stone crop, that had deep maroon leaves and pinkish flowers. I do not know if the bed it was in was contaminated or something, as it did not do well, and it was receiving the same care as the sedum. I would love to have some of the dark one, as it is very striking to look at. Glad things are doing better.

Yes they do need about 6 hours of direct sunlight to bloom really well. Mine are a ground cover variety. they will spread out next year.

I have had hectic days like that. Now most of the time I am alone because my husband works two jobs so my days are not hectic. I also am not well enough to be that busy because I am two ill the next day. I am glad you got photos.

whoa!!! it sucking alone that honey, see!!!...what an enjoyment moment that it had. Not even bother your camera's flashlight, Grandpa Bob!!!. Many seedums or sedums are extensively cultivated as garden plants, due to their interesting and attractive appearance and hardiness. And what I heard, sedum in ancient days, biting seedum used to treat epilepsy and skin diseases, as well as to cause abortions. Is this true, Grandpa Bob?. :::michael:::

4 Honey Bees - 4 at one time sharing the sweet nectar of my seedums
I have no idea as I've never had epilepsy, not skin diseases nor have I ever been pregnant. HAHAHAHA! Thanks again. Here's a shot with more bees on them all at one time. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Beautiful flowers and love the bees enjoying their nectar. My seedum is just bout done blooming already even thou I still have lots of bees since my Seven Steps to Heaven are still blooming. They look shabby cause the last storm that went thru here blew them almost flat.
