My husband is a pack rat and it used to be worse than it is now. Thats only because I chose to clean his stuff out without his knowledge once and I got rid of 6 bags of stuff he doesn't use. My step mother is even worse. She has filled a huge house with stuff she'll never use.

My husband and I are both kind of pack rats. We have a house full of stuff. We just put up a shed in our backyard, because our house isn't big enough for all of our junk. And our house is not a little tiny one either. It's around 1500 square feet, and it's only my husband, me, our son, and our pets that live here. We just moved to our house this summer, and we had to weigh all of our loads since the military was paying for it. We had around 10 TONS of stuff! lol If we were moving somewhere else, the Air Force would have only paid for 4 tons. So it's a good thing that it was just a local move.

After reading through the topic, I have understood what a pack rat is in meaning. I am sorry to say that I am a pack rat as well. I also keep many things that I do not use, but still in good condition without wanting to get rid of them. It is really a headache to me with them placed in my small study. I will try to deal with them some day when I have enough time to make my study empty without the unnecessary stuff. hehe. I didn't know that I am a pack rat, hehe. I love this saying, friend.
