I will travel to Cebu next week! I am going to attend a convention but i am quite excited in the places i could visit there! I know that it's a historical place, i've known about Magellan and its attempt to conquer the villagers. :-) I wonder what are the must-see places there, those which will both add knowledge and enjoyment in spending a short vacation there? Hope some of you guys can suggest some places to visit in Cebu so that i can already include them in my itinerary of travel! See you guys in Cebu!

That would depend on what kinda places you would like to see. If you would like to get to know the historical Cebu, you should definitely visit Plaza Independencia and Fort San Pedro within it. While you're there go straight to Colon Street, one of the oldest street in Cebu where business took place. Then, go straight to Magellan's Cross and the Basilica del Sto. Niño where the image of the Sto. Niño that Magellan brought is enshrined. (Just be careful with your belongings as there are lots of pickpockets around that area.)That is the old Cebu. If you want the new Cebu, check out the uptown area with Ayala Business Center at its heart. If you like to visit resorts, you can check out LapuLapu island and its choice of resorts. Don't forget to drop by the shrine of Lapu2x and grab a bite of sumptuous seafood near that shrine. You can also find factories of different Cebuano products and delicacies in that island. If you have lots of time there, you can also explore Olango Island, a bird sanctuary where migratory birds visit. Just make sure to bring your own food while on that island. Have a great time!
