Does a bearded man look more macho than smooth faced man?

Am not bearded, but I have this feeling that fearsome men are those who wear beards, these are men whose looks intimidate other human beings and they have a high propensity to be authoritarian if they are in positions of leadership. To my mind comes Samora Michel(am not sure whether he was authoritarian)Osama Bin Laden( for sure he is a feared terrorist)) and Fidel Castro ( defintely he is authoritarian). Does having a beard make a man Macho and even feared?

I don't think so. It may vary based on his personality though you have listed some of them, who are bearded.

You are absolutely right Pose123,some people would look extremely strange without beards, imagine Fidel Castro without beards-he would probably look powerless! But I want to agree absolutely with williamjisir, the issue of personality is core in these matters of beards and the perceptions they confer upon the beholders!

i dont think a beard makes a man look more macho and scary. ^__^;; i think it depends on the aura of the man and his behavior. those men with beards that are feared and look macho are just coincidences. sometimes, beard even makes a man look untidy and unclean. i personally dont like men with beards and mustache. i think its kinda itchy and will give me allergies if a bearded or mustached guy kissed me. LOL
