We took our son to hospital (royal children hospital) to see a specialist today for his ears. we were told some months ago that he has fluid in his ears and that he would have to have gromits put in. Today they checked it all out and told us that it would be a waste of time and he does not need it. Instead he will have his tonsils removed in about 6 weeks time. Hope it all goes well. How are kids after the operation. I had it done when I was small but cant remember. Can someone share their story about it?

I understand anxiety of a mother, but do not worry your child will be ok . First they give sedation and thereafter operation.Everything will be ok my prayers are with you.

Good luck to your son. I hope all well go well. I had an operation when I was few months old in my chest, I think it was lump, I really didn't ask the right name for it but I still have the scar even now. Small one.

I have had my fair share of hospital visits my self very bad tonsils (now you know who he takes after) that made me regular at the hospitals, than I had brain injury, then I had my tonsils out, latest was last year when I had my gall blader removed. I do not care about my self it is very different when your child has to go under the knife.

hello violeta_va,I broke my arm when I was 3 (my sis pushed me from my bike) but I didn't cry.I burned half of my right arm on a hot bbq pit when I turned 4 and I didn't cry.But I had an appendix operation when I turned 15 and I cried like a baby!!!so you see,I can't tell you your son won't cry but he'll turn out a tough kid just like me although I can't say I'm a kid at this age!lol.Hang in there violeta_va!Hope everything goes well.Kisses to your boy.
