I bought some suede boots for the cold weather. When I purchased them online, I thought that they were made of only one kind of material, which is sweather like. When They arrived, I found that they were mostly suede. I can not bear to return them because I like them to much. However, I would like to know what kind of damage does water do and is it permanent?

I'm not really sure, but I have had suede shoes that have gotten wet in the rain, and they never looked the same, you know? I'm not sure it could really be called damage, but they just looked kinda scruffy after they got wet.

You said they looked scruffy? Were they still wearable, even though they were looked scruffy? I am just trying to figure out if I need to panic, if I am wearing the boots and it starts to rain.

I still wore mine because it didn't bother me too much. I used to wear baggy pants that covered my shoes anyway. Ha ha. They didn't really look all that bad, more or less just had a very worn look to them.
