Air America Host Randi Rhodes Mugged.
At one time the animosity between the races was the biggest source of hate in the USA. Today it is perhaps between the liberals and the conservatives.
Recently, liberal talk show host Randi Rhoades was viciously attacked. Teeth were even knocked out. This should not have happened. No one deserves what happened to her. Now, here are some quotes from her co-worker, Elliot.
"Is this an attempt by the right wing hate machine to silence one of our own?" he asked on the air. "Are we threatening them? Are they afraid that we're winning? Are they trying to silence intimidate us?"
Wow, is what I say. Why does he assume a conservative would make this attack? Conservatives I have known are extremely non violent and in favor of following the law. You know, as in the phrase, "Law and order", one of the conservative cornerstones of their philosophy.

It sounds like a publicity stunt to me. She fell and got hurt; then decided to get some publicity at the expense of other people.
And, I hate to say it, it worked. People who had never heard of her, now know her name.

At another web page there was a picture she had posted of herself and the damage. It was worse than falling down, in my opinion. I'm thinking someone did beat her badly and she doesn't want to talk about it.

Depending on what you hit when you fall, you can do a lot of damage in a simple fall.
Last year, I tripped going into an American Legion for a Christmas party. When I fell, I ended up with a broken tooth, split lip, bruised face, torn rotator cuff in my right shoulder, sprained wrist, bruises on my arm, side, and both knees. All because the entrance was not clearly marked and lit and we went to a rear exit by mistake. My face and mouth hit concrete pavement. My right arm tried to break my fall and I hit both the side of the entrance and the pavement.
That does not mean that someone did not beat her up (maybe an ex or a boyfriend); but, it is possible to get seriously injured when you fall.

Redyellow... you'd think that merely falling wouldn't do much damage, but when I was a paramedic, I often treated fall victims who looked like a train hit them. On the other hand, I treated a few train victims that only had a few scratches.
I don't know whether Randy Rhoades got mugged or not. Whatever happened to her, I hope she comes out of it ok.

Well, I have never even heard of her before this....
This happened in in a very liberal part of the country, so the idea that her attacker, mugger, whatever was a conservative is highly unlikely.
What makes that even more unlikely is that generally conservatives are not the criminal type, disregarding the occasional exceptions.
Although I am not trained in statistics, I would say the chances are remote that it was a conservative and most likely a liberal...and that this was a random crime.
That would be faily common for the area.
His comments were not appropriate or even justified, now more then they would be if he had said the mugger was probably black.
I now regard him to be a hate monger, and I never heard of him either.

I agree it was unlikely a conservative. Try reading some of the comments at the link. (I left one there!) I was surprised at the vitriol, short sightedness, and anger toward the right. Especially when no one really knows who did it.
I certainly agree with the poster at the link who pointed out that extreme left wing loonies who believe the end justifies the means would commit this crime in an instant while justifying it on the basis of the "good" it would do for their cause.
Yes, for those who did not know it, there are left wing theoriticians who teach the end justifies the means.

GUESS WHAT? It is a lie! Randi Rhoades was not mugged! It was just reported in the NY DAILY NEWS that this was an untruth.
She was badly hurt. She did get some teeth knocked out. Her co-worker was telling some kind of lie on the air about right wingers possibly attacking her.
This was discovered when a reporter checked with the police and Randi Rhoades' lawyer. Both of these sources say they don't know what happened, but she was not mugged!

I think the conservatives should now demand that this lying hate monger be fired.
Hey, it worked for Imus, so in the interests of fairness and truth this guy should be fired as well.

In her case I think the lie is because of the fact that otherwise no one will listen to her.
It is a desparate plea for attention when she would be better served by a desparate cry for help.
