how do you usually welcom your distant relatives?

three of my distant relatives will come to visit my father-in -law,who lives with my brother-in-law.it has been more than 10 years since they last came here.so we haven't met for about 10 years.we are all looking forward to their coming.but i don't konw what to prepare to welcome them to make them feel at home.
i will appreciate your giving me some advice.

I think bringing them to have a meal in the restaurant is a good idea.
