Do you as a parent allow your child all the fun things a child would like to do,like playing in the sand,in water and playing out doors? Or do you restrict your child?

I am a young mother of a 3 year old, so I definately let him get away with fun stuff, but I also keep control of him!! I think letting kids eat dirt and play with balls in the house and actually doing most of it with him is good for our relationship, and good for him as a kid!! If you restrict them too much they will go wild when you are not around!! hey, my parents always said a little dirt never hurt, and I take that to the full extent!! LOL they are only little for so long enjoy it and let their memories be good ones with you as a parent!! Play with them weather it be in the mud, running in the house, painting, and making messes!! But also let them help clean up, it will teach them a lot and you'll enjoy your children so much more!!

Hi!
Your response was very interesting.I fully agree with you,a liitle dirt never hurt. They are little only for sometime, its good to let them have all the fun they can. Both you and your child will surely cherish those memories.Have fun with your kid and enjoy every moment when you can.

my parents used to give us all the freedom in the world. we were allowed to play outside (as long as homework was done) every day. We were allowed to bring friends home any time and go to friends house. We played with dirt, sand, water on the grass.
my son is still very young to be allowed to play on its own outside. But as long as I can see him where he is its fine by me. He plays with sand, dirt and climbs trees. I dont care if he is covered in dirt as long as he is safe.

I do allow my child to do all fun things. I am sometimes worried about the dirty areas in which he moves while playing outdoor.
I was brought up in a town which was surrounded by natural beauty. I used to climb up the hills many times just to have fun. I also had adventured climbing the hills from the opposite side from the routine side. I also used to go to river near my town. And for all these things many a times I had to do secretly without my family members leting know about what I was doing....
So now for my child I have never put restrictioins however, if I have to say no for something, I first convince him that it is not good thing for him and so he himself says no to such things.
