Forget global warming! I just found a more immediate, real threat that we need to get our congress to take proactive measurement about. Here's the article: http://www.ibeditorials.com/IBDArticles.aspx?id=274575870525385. This is something we can do something about in the here and now. What do you think?

I couldn't get to your link because you are missing the letter d. I did eventually find it and have reposted it below. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOTICE - CORRECT LINK - PLEASE TRY AGAIN: http://www.ibdeditorials.com/IBDArticles.aspx?id=274575870525385 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the article. *entering paranoia mode* A while back, I had this thought about the US doing this to China because we are so indebted to them since we sold this country out through Walmart and the likes. Now that China has fast become industrialized and is bankrupting America, it is not a too far-fetched of a theory to think that they could be disabled industrially through an EMP blast. America would have to create a real good reason for doing such a thing, I don't know what that could be. Thats the job of the C.I.A. I think China is the bigger threat here considering they own America. They don't need to EMP blast us. We could blast ourselves and in doing so become truly bankrupt. If we fall, so does China because of their heavy reliance on us. Then we could start over from scratch with a little help from our wealthy Arab Sheik friends. Secret groupings of people have been known to do secretive and scary things throughout history. EMP blasts could be a frightening future that could come from China or just be blamed on China. Just a hypothesis. *leaving paranoia mode* Below is an article I think you might enjoy reading: http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2006/10/12//africa/ME_GEN_Dubai_Watching_Iran.php

Thanks for putting in the "fix". I tried that with the other link in my other post, but to no avail. So I gave up, thinking that the site had some sort "no link here" program. As far as Dubai goes, there will be LOTS of action going on there from now on. Just not political, but as the article stated, business relations are thriving there. And we all know what happens when big business pushes it headquarters into a new region. I have to admit Dubai is BEAUTIFUL and I wish I could go there. But more importantly, it is an up and quickly coming new world power center. U.S. concerns with Iran will be only a small but important part of it. But the EMP potential is worrisome to say the least. China on the other hand I don't see as much a threat as a possible allie in the future. The ways of old are continuously being challenged and weakened or removed by a new sense of worthiness amongst its youth. And they very much like the "Western World" way of living being added to their culture. Yes, the government is not happy about this. But I think it is more their loss of control and power that irritates them more than allowing their country to emerge into the "modern world". Kind of akin to the Rockefellers pumping their gas into the consumers' tanks.

I think its long over due for one world peace, so all this craziness can fade into history. But you know what leading fundamentalist christians say about that - first the anti-christ must bring a false promise of world unity. Who wants to be the first one to start that process? They would surely be labeled as... In the immortal words of Homer Simpson - 'd'oh!

I had actualy wondered if this was a concern among strategists and such. There is (debatedly at least) technology to produce an EMP with out the use of a nuclear weapon. An "emp bomb, if ou will. I couldn't begin to understand it, but apparently, or at least supposedly, the science does exist.

When "they" are for sure without a doubt set up with a safe haven to run to, they will wipe out the majority of the earth's population if the people don't wake up and speak up. It's time to stop standing together as nations and races and start standing together as people of this earth.

Not at all surprising. The little bit of study I had about radios and how they work explained briefly emp's. And then I learned a little about quasars and that they emit radio frequencies. So it doesn't take nuclear fission or fusion to generate them. I imagine they could make a missile that contains a generator in it that could fly overhead and pulse everything beneath its flight path. And I'm not very imaginative, so Lord knows what they've come up with.
