No. of Languages

It is told that in India, more than 60,000 languages are being spoken and written. Is it anywhere in the world. I think in the most part of the globe, there is only one or two languages spoken or written.

In China we have fifty nationalities and some of the minorites have their own languages either spoken or written. But I have no idea about the exact number as the majority is in Chinese. You can be understood everywhere if you use mandarin though we have numerous dialects.
