Breaking Nails When Using Keyboard?

I just finished clipping my nails a short while ago because they were beginning to break from typing on my keyboard. I find that since I started on myLot I have to do this more often than I did before. Does anyone else have problems with their nails breaking from typing on the keyboard often? My nails grow very quickly, but they are not really strong.

I always keep my nails very short, so I never have a problem with them breaking from typing on the keyboard. If your nails aren't that strong, you should take some pre-natal vitamins (folic acid). They're not just for people wanting to become pregnant and really help with nails, hair, and skin. I also found an article for you that has a bunch of other tips: http://www.howtodothings.com/fashion-and-personal-care/a2650-how-to-strengthen-nails.html

That is very thoughtful of you, talisman, and I will be sure to check out the site you have referred me to.

P.S. I also learned after visiting the site that I have been using my nails as tools, LOL. I will have to work on that.

I don't have any problems with breaking my nails when on using the keyboard but I find I have to cut them often because I can't type properly when they are long. My nails grow quickly too and they are strong.

I guess mine would be considered brittle, maddysmommy, because they break easily. I have decided to try and take better care of them now, but I will keep them trimmed.

Really? You break your nails? Wow that’s impressive taking time here in mylot huh. Well probably you have to get a softer keyboard. Before, I have the worst keyboard ever and I decided to buy new one which took me few hours to roam around the mall because I was looking for the best one. I wanted a keyboard that would allow my fingers move freely when encoding especially because I have long nails.

I have never actually broken a nail from typing but I have noticed that it slowers my speed and I have a harder time hitting the right keys. To the point where I don't even want to type because it starts to aggitate me!

My nails were becoming very soft and breaking. I've now chewed them down. I can't seem to stop chewing now. I think I'm stressed about something but I can't figure what it is.

Not really because my husband makes me keep my nails very short. He thinks I will scratch him otherwise. Therefore, my nails don't break much anymore because they are so short!

I know I won't be letting mine grow that long again, Aurone. Mine will just snap off sometimes from hitting the keys.

I cut my nails short and hardly remember when was the last time I actually grown it big. I am not at all used to long manicured nails and wonder how ppl manage with those. It looks nice when well maintained but a big NO for me. Obviously, I don't break nails while typing hun. lol..
