Update on my daughter's school driving me nuts

Thank you to everyone who responded to my last discussion about my daughter's school. It felt good to know that I was not alone in my thinking and gave me strength to face the mean office people at the school. They are not generally mean, but they can get attitudes on them if you dare talk badly about their performance. Anyway, I went in to the office to find out why the boy's parents had not been contacted, and it turns out that the incident was taken care of "in class" and not even referred to the principals office as she was out of town and will be until Friday. So, I politely asked for the superintendent's phone number and explained that I would be calling his office to find out how I can get this bullying issue taken care of. I was given the phone number but also assured that the principal would be called that morning. The superintendent's office was very nice and said they would start an investigation into the matter and promised I would get a phone call sometime in the afternoon from someone. Sure enough, 10 minutes after noon yesterday I got a phone call from my daughter's teacher. They were going to call the boy's parents (the big thing I was asking for) and will be "taking the next step" in the discipline process. Yeah!! They could not tell me what that next step is, as it is confidential between the school and the parents. That's fine, I can live with that. All I asked is for more than a time-out to be given and the boy's parents notified. A little leaning on the school and threat to get the superintendent involved worked. Hopefully now that this boy is being punished more severely he will see that trying to hit my daughter is not going to just be over looked. Hopefully this is the end of this drama!
