When we didn't have power the kids and I were talking about some things that had happened that embarrassed us. I think it is nice to laugh at these things later.
One of mine was when I was on a date with my first real boyfriend. I was 14 and it was only about our third date. He asked me if I go sledding. I thought of course as a kid?! I was picturing the small bunny hills outside my 14 story apartment building. There aren't that many hills in Toronto. Well he takes me out to meet all his friends at this physco hill that barrels down to heck! But me being cool say oh yeah I do this all the freakin' time. They were all taking these huge running starts and streaking down this mountain on these really cool sled things that have steering wheels and I look at my little brother's dinky little Magic Carpet. OH boy, so off I go all 5 foot 10 inches of me and I last maybe 2 seconds and I lose control of my rug and I flop all the way down the hill. It was not the graceful stuff you see in the movies, that's for sure. It hurt like crazy but as I lay there checking if my legs will ever work again, all I could think of was how I was going to save face and not cry like a baby. He came down the hill all worried cause it looked bad, and I was acting all cool, "Oh yeah I meant to do that, makes it way more fun" but I avoided going on any more runs that night.
What is the most embarrassing thing you ever did on a date?

The most embarassing thing I did on a date is when I was a school girl one guy really wanted to date me, so he was asking me to go on a date and I didn't want to. He really insisted, so I said ok, and arrive on a date wearing rollerblades. He understood everything and started to hate me from that time.

LOL! You are funny girl. I bet you are a riot to live with.
I can't think of anything on a date but only my most embarrassing moment. It involved a girl in high school but for some reason I couldn't ask her out after this.
I was in study hall. Had two back to back. In between I moved to the side so as to see what was going on. Well this super sexy girl sit right across the aisle from me. She came in to get more books out of her desk. To do this she had to bend over, not the least bit shy, to get them and there her rear was about 8 inches from my face. Well being a very shy boy I of course had to look away, I am serious, so about that time I heard a noise behind me. I turned back into my seat but completely forgot where here bottom was. I felt it however from my hand to my elbow.
Now I want to tell you I have never seen anyone move so fast and have such a shocked look on their face as she did in my entire life. While I am not known for my ability to talk I most certainly could not then. As much as I wanted to say I was sorry all that came out was Ahhhhh.
I put my head on my desk and waited for the first blow. She stood there for maybe two hours, said nothing, and then left. We never spoke of that ever.
However this memory is a good one. LOL

Hi vicki,
Hmmmmm let me think here. When my hubby and I were dating I do remember this one time we went out for supper. He said something really freakin' funny as I was taking a sip of my drink and he almost wore it! I tried sooooooo hard to calm down enough to be able to swallow the iced tea, and then I could feel my face go red, was so embarrassing.

You know, I don't really get embarassed all that easily. I guess because I'm pretty lame and do dumb stuff all the time. So I can't even tell you something I did that I was actually embarassed by... especially on a date which is a rarity. I could tell you about the stupidest date I ever went on. that was embarassing... because it was just the worst thing ever.
There was this local band that I HATED...and funny enough this guy was talking to me at a bar and I kept thinking "I know this guy...why is that?" and realized later it was the singer of the band I hated. I was like whatever and gave him the benefit of the doubt and went on a date with him. WE went to a Karaoke Bar. Most Boring Night of my LIFE!
Needless to say we never did speak again. So that's embarassing I guess.
