Composing a Honey-Do List

Now that hubby is out of work I have been leaving him a short list of things that need to be done around the house. He does the housework and cooks. He also has been collecting, chopping and stacking wood for the fireplace. If you had to compose a Honey-do List, what would you have on the list?

My hubby is quite a bit older than me and I am hoping when he retires I can use him for all the nasty chores I hate. The first thing I would put on the list is the toilet. The toilet cleaning would be all his, the whole bathroom. He makes most of the mess there anyways....

For some reason the bathroom in our bedroom is the place I have to keep clean. I tell him that I do not stand to use the toilet. He should be the one to clean it.

Clean his office. WInterize the outside plants. Take the AC out of the window. Make some of your good muffins and I hate to see it, he has another great recipe we call 'breakfast turds' - they are a breakfast food, high in fiber and guess what they look like..have not had them in a long time.

When my husband was off work, he just did little things around the house. Little things that had been let go, while he was working. Fixing latches, straightening up his garage, shed, getting things packed away, digging out the holiday things, painting. I really didn't have to leave him too many lists. I just gave him ideas so that he would not start another thing that would sit unfinished if he went back to work.

Load/unload the dishwasher. Fold and put away laundry. Clean cat litter area. Anything he feels like doing. Get rid of the stacks of useless paper that he is collecting, because he thinks he might need whatever is on them. Not a very long list. He already cooks for me often, always fuels all of the vehicles and does the maintenance on them. He works pretty hard. He often does all of the other things on the list, EXCEPT throw away the useless papers and bits and pieces of things and parts that he brings in the door with him.

If I did that for my hubby, he would freak out. He would think that I am telling him what to do. He hates being told what to do. Even a gentle hint can be misinterpreted, so I am careful when mentioning jobs. Hope you get all yours done. If I had a job list, it would contain: -clean the shower -clean the walls in the bathroom wash any window in the house -dusting Actually there are a LOTof cleaning jobs I could put on a list.

I don't know about this one. I like to clean. So does my husband. So do my kids. Lol. We pretty much pick up after ourselves. Every once in a while we have to take a day and spring clean. Oh, I know..... I do not care much for folding the clothes. We have closets that we just hang them in. We do not use dressers. For thing that are not hung like: underware and all, we put them in big rubbermaid tupperwares and stack them. From the past experiences when we did have dressers, I would wait til I had to go somewhere and hurry and get dressed, I would go through so many shirts to find the right one, I did not have time to fold them all back up before I left and that would just make a huge mess. Now I just hang it back up real fast. SO that would be on my list, for him to get dressers and keep the clothes folded at all times. =)

Too cold now to paint outside but I'd like the inside of my house painted.

I would think, Elusive, that a Honey-do list would include the various and sundry little things that need to be done around the home. Your hubby is great to be so helpful with the chores while he is off from work. Count your blessings.:)

I do keep a Honey-do List and the top thing right now is also cutting, splitting and stacking wood for the fireplace. We have a lot of lawn and trees and he has been working hard to try to keep the leaves under control. I have taken 4 carts full off of the deck alone. I had a lot of things on his list. Cleaning chimney flue - covering air conditioning unit and getting yard things brought in and stored for the winter. At this very moment he and my son are cutting and staking wood. His honey-do list never really get done because the more he does the more I add LOL.
