I live in a drought affected area in central NSW Australia. There is a natural lagoon in the area and it has been very low. Most of the creeks have been dry for months, a few for years. My friend has a property just out of town with a creek running through it that hasn't seen any water for about 6 years. We were delighted to discover it running the other day and had a lovely time paddlingand some younger friends had a quad bike which became stuck as he tried to cross the creek. He manged to get it out. The next day, one of the young share farmers decided to attempt to cross at the same crossing...the idiot. See the photo for what happened to his work truck. Have you done crazy things in your vehicle wether it be off road or on?

If I have been stuck, it has been in snow, usually, although my son accidentally went down off the edge of a road. He was driving a one ton van, in the dark, in the rain. Thinking he heard something wrong with the tire, he pulled to the shoulder, or so he thought, only the van kept on going down. It was a deep enough junction that when he stopped the top of his van was level with the roadway.Stuck in the mud. We had to have it winched out. The technician who did this said that if he had been going any speed at all he would have rolled. I am so glad that your friend's creek is running.

oh my he found the biggest hole there . so glad that it had water in it and hope it stays ther so sad when Our creeks dry up for no rain. thats like our draught has put HOvver DAm down 100 feet for it is feed from Colorado river and depends on the snow fall and the rain three. I know we dont get that much rain but where it is surpose to rain it needs to do it!

That's great news, Ms Tickle, that the creek is running again after being empty for so long. Where I grew up we spent many pleasant hours paddling in a nearby creek. It is the best kind of fun.

Haha you said MsTickle, that was really silly of him. I pulled of the road one night on my way home to pee, lol, and as I was backing out onto the main road there, I encountered an oncoming car, which I didnt see at first. So to avoid having to stop and switch gears I thought Ill just back up onto the road that was across from the road I had turned on and wait to pull out. It was dark and I really couldnt see much, it was a poorly lit road. Well the road that I thought was directly across from the one I was on, was sat slightly to the right of me, and I backed right into a ditch. Front wheel drive car, and I was sat with my wheels just off the ground. And then, the car that I saw coming turned off before it got to me! This was before cell phones were really in use, and it was late at night, I just started walking. I was basically out in the middle of nowhere! Luckily I a nice person stopped and took me near my house. I was so upset! I felt so dumb! So while I didnt do it on purpose, it still was silly of me not too just put the car in drive and pull forward again. I was 19 or so I guess, I could just chalk it up to inexperience. lol Yeah thats what it was ;o) Bay Lay Gray xx

Actually I haven't but it seems whereever they are a mudhole or somewhere to make one like a feild or somehting my brother in law is here making a mess he loves taking his four wheel drive truck and just tear everything up and sling water and mud his truck gets so muddy and dirty that you can't tell what color it started out with and he says it is a blast although I haven't done anything of the sort to compare it to. As you say boys and their toys..lol

LMAO!!! That's hilarious! Serves them right. Why do people do this when they have no idea if they'll be able to get across or not?? There was a creek that you crossed near where I grew up. But it had a mostly rock bed and if it was too high you knew it wasn't a smart thing to try and cross it. Though now they have built a bridge over it :(

That sure wasn't too smart of them....in your area they should know that water can be risky. I don't do silly things with my vehicles because being silly can cost you some major big bucks, which I could not afford. I do like to go out driving in the snow, but only in a four wheel drive vehicle. Never go out on the ice though...that is just asking for trouble.
