Well our local grocery store Cub Foods had a lot of Christmas candy on sale this week so I have started to get their stockings prepared. This is just the start as we tend to load them FULL of candy and gifts. HAHAHA!! Each year the wife and I make their stockings for them. They get 2 stockings each year. We buy carious candy's and small toys and or books as gifts wrapped to add to the stockings as well. Do you make your grandchildren an extra stocking as well? Do you also add small gifts inside as well? Please share. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Well, I don't have any grandkids, but I like to do stockings for my son. This will be my daughters first Christmas, and she will be getting one too. I am not sure what to put in hers since she is really too little to be eating a bunch of candy. I do candy and a few small gifts for my son in his stocking each year.

You could also put in a little stuffed animal too! My daughter was 6 months for her first Christmas and she loved the stuffed animals, rattles, and soothers that we put in her stocking!

Hi Grandpa Bob! Wow! That looks like quite the loot pile! I bet your grandsons will enjoy :) Last year was my first Christmas loading a stocking for my daughter, but every year my hubby gets a stocking full from me! I love making stockings for them :) I usually put in a few small gifts, chocolate, and a piece of fruit (apple or orange). I love those Christmas oranges! Luv & Hugzz, Your Friend, PurpleTeddyBear.

I always fill my stockings to the brim too, if not higher! I always make sure stuff is sticking right out of the top so it's ready to pop lol. I too am guilty of sometimes eating the sweets too!

I have to have three stockings, even for my 14 year olds. They don't get filled until the last moment. I only buy lollies & chocolates for them. I have to be careful what I put in them, due to the heat, & only using wrapped lollies, as my step children are paranoid about food touching the material.

I fill the grandsons on Christmas eve then they stay in my attic closet as it's always cool in there. Then they get them when they arrive Christmas morning. All candy given here is wrapped as well. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I really do not want to even think about grandchildren or stockings for many, many years. Now my girls on the other hand get three. One at their dad's, one here, and one at my parent's house. The ones here and at their dad's are filled with little gifts and candy. Now the one they get at my parents house has fruit, nuts, and candy. My girls are 14 and 12, they still dump their stockings out at grandma and grandpa's looking for that elusive present they are so sure is suppose to be in there.

I love stockings. I would rather get them than a gift anyday. I don't know why I like them so much. My mother in law and my grandmother make them for us and they give us gifts too. My husband and I always make one for each other too and we've done that since our first christmas together. I guess that's kinda our tradition now. We don't usually put much candy in them though. We do stuff like those little cans of shaving cream, body wash, cologne, etc... And I make one for our son too. I've already started buying some stuff to go in my husband's stocking that I make for him. I've just got to find some stuff to go in my son's because he is only 18 months old so we don't give him much candy.

i sometimes find it very difficult to come up with ideas for stockings. i have to fill my parents and they are hard to buy for. i like to be creative or get things on sale. for my mom this year, i bought a package of snowman napkins at a garage sale (brandnew of course!)(she loves snowmen!)

Making the stockings are my favorite part of Christmas. Along with candy, junk food and small gifts I include bubble bath, shampoo, and toothbrushes and toothpaste. Sine they are going to need to brush after all that candy.

I don't have any grandchildren but I do make stockings for our children and for my husband. I fills the kid's stockings with toys and small gifts, not tons of candy but we do put some in there. My parents don't do stockings for the grandkids because there are 15 of them. My mom and dad buys all of them gifts though.

I do add small gifts to my stocking too I get things like pencils and crayons and little notebooks and hot wheels cars and hair clips. I would rather they get the small little toys then a bunch of candy as they just had all that candy from halloween. I am glad others buy things besides candy for the stocking too.
