Has anyone ever freelanced before?
I don't mean for a website, but for a local paper or magazine?
The editor-in-chief of one of my local weeklies has asked me to submit some copy to him with the potential that it may be published. I know he said I won't get rich doing it, but he often says there's a small amount for every published article, so I wanted to know if anyone had a rough idea of what a freelance article might bring in?

I haven't done that but I've been researching it. The closest to freelance writing I've actually done is on Associated Content but that's about it as far as writing goes. That's actually interesting and could prove to be helpful for those who are unsure on that. I'll have to look and see what I can find on that.

Well, I pitched my piece and he loved it. It's worth $150 so that answers that question! :)
