Turkey-duck-chicken ---This is turducken? A chicken stuffed into a duck stuffed into a turkey. I first heard of this last year, someone saying he deep fried it. I have never tried it. Have you tried it? How was it cooked? Did you have it for dinner today? Does it sound appealing to you? Personally there is so much fat in the skin of a duck, and it would be soaked up by the turkey and chicken that is does not sound good to me? What are your thoughts?

I just had my Thanksgiving dinner--it was delicious, even though a few days old. I agree, it does not sound right. Not good to me at all.

Hello Debs_place, Yes, we just had it for Thanksgiving dinner, at a friend's house. Overall, it was a huge hit. Each of the three birds is deboned, with the skin left on. So, the three flavors tend to remain in-tact. As for the duck fat seeping through to the other birds, if the taste was any indication, then the individual fats stay within the individual birds. When I dished out my plate, I dished myself a piece of duck that was very fatty. Which, I wasn't particularly thrilled with. Yet, the turkey was delicious!

Well, it is good to know that you liked the turkey, in spite of the duck. But then I have to wonder, what is the point of it? And how does one debone all of the birds? It sounds like a huge pain in butt to me!

I heard of it a few years ago on TV. I would love to try it, but that is mostly because I like to try different things. However, I wouldn't want it deep fried. I'm not into THAT! LOL

I agree with the deep frying part, I mean you take a turkey which is a relatively healthy food and deep fry it, why not just get some fried chicken?

I've heard of it, on TV actually just a few weeks ago but have never had it myself. I would like to try it sometime though and I don't often like trying new things to eat.

I've never even heard of it let alone ate it!! LOL I would like to know how you get the chicken into the duck and then all of that into the turkey in the first place... Secondly where is the stuffing?!? or maybe you don't need it with all that meat!!LOL No I want my stuffing (best part of the meal) and turkey etc. It's not a holiday without it!! This really does not sound appealing to me either Deb! Who eats this? We had Ham at our Thanksgiving dinner in October but we will be eating the Turkey at Christmas :) Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas to you and your family! :) Hugs ~Heavens~

I tend to agree, I am a stuffing fanatic. When I was a kid, after dinner, I would take bread, put some Mayo on it, then put stuffing in between, my mother thought I was nuts and called it a bread sandwich but it was so good.

My sister-in-law cooked one for Thanksgiving a couple of years back. Overall we were disappointed. None of the meats were really all that great. Fortunately she had also cooked a regular turkey that gotten eaten up. I think I would prefer to have my birds cooked seperately.
