Controlling other peoples lives!

Yeah,I got your attention with that one,didn't I lol. No,I'm not controlling other peoples lives nor do I want to,I am taling about the Sims! I used to play it quite frequently but then got bored with it,but I recently acquired the complete collection with all the expansion packs and now it's fun again. I'm trying to figure out why I like playing it so much,until I realized,I have a ball building and decoratiing the houses,once I get done with that I move on to the next character or I send them to work to earn money so I can redecorate again lol. I wish I could do that at home,but who wants to paint everyday and move furniture? Maybe I should have become an interior decorator? LOL Do you play or have you ever played the Sims and did you get bored or what do you like most about the game?
