what are dreams all about?

I have a friend who dreams often on tidal wave and tsunami. She often sees this dream whenever her aunt invited her to have a swimming in the beach by the weekend. Whenever she had that dream, her aunt postponed their swimming schedule because there might something will happen. Just like today, she told us a while ago that she saw again a tsunami in her dream last night. She said that her aunt invite her yesterday to have swimming in the beach this coming Sunday. She was really confused and scared because of what she saw in her dream. We even can’t help her because we didn’t even know what that dreams all about. Can you give me an advice?
