Balancing the checkbook

So I have come a long way from overdrawing our bank account all the time. My husband was keeping the checkbook until he lost his job so I have taken it over because he doesn't seem to want to anymore. So anyway I have been doing a good job I think. If I write a check I automatically deduct it from the checkbook as well as all my card purchases. Well the other night he needed the card to get smokes. Well when I go into his pocket to get it out there is cash in there. I asked how much he took out and he said $20. First of all he doesn't use our banks ATM so we get $3.50 fees total. He tries to pick a fight with me about not telling me right away that he took money out. Now I check the balance and the ATM withdrawl was for $40 not $20. I am pretty pissed off cause now we might end up being overdrawn again.

That stinks Angel. Your story isn't that uncommon either. I can't recommend much here except have a careful eye on this, money is a serious issue. And since you are the one in charge of the finances at present it should be your call and he should be forthcoming about any dealings with the checkbook/card.
