Digital video camcorder and non-linear edting have changed the world of video editing. The Era of high definition video has arrived. In the old days analog was the main media of film making & video production.Digital video was very expensive and definitely not meant for tight budget production. An analog video signal is a continuous waveform.Small disruptions to that otherwise smooth, cotinuous signal can lead to degradation in image and color quality.Simply dubbing (recording) an analog type to anlogtype results in some quality loss. With each aditionl dubbng images lok less defined, color became increasingly wased out,and the pictures get grainy.Audio quality also suffers degradation with each generation. In 'type only' editing systems,to make simple scene transitions, such as dissolves or to add special effects such as showing videos in moving boxes means doing multiple editis or recording passes. Each pass adds more video noise to the tape.Editors using analog tpe machines have to plan carefully to avoide creating projects with obvious shifts in video quality from one selection to another.
Digital film making system makes all difference.Digital video makes generation quality los a thing of the past.Digital video is a binary signal, a streem of ones and zeros.Unlink an analog signal which has a wide range of data possibilities.Adigital signal rarley loses quality during transmission and does't sufer from generation loss.
