How many pages (based on Microsoft Word or other word processing template) do your manuscripts wind up being when you finish? Also, about how many words? My children's novel wound up being 50 word pages and roughly 10,000 words.

I don't know how many words are expected for a children's book, but read that new novels are usually expected to be at least 80,000 words and not more than 120,000. My first came out to 83,000.

My first novel is about 125,000 words, over 600 pages. It needs a lot of revision so it will probably be a lot less when I am done with it. My current novel is 260 pages during its 6th revision. I think it is about 50,000 words. I haven't worked on it in awhile so I haven't done a word count. I've been making so many revisions. Of course these are adult novels, general fiction. Children's novels should be a lot shorter than that. Yours sounds about right.
