Are there any Competitive Swimmers out there?

I need some advice from a competitive swimmer, or ex-competitive swimmer. What can my 14 year old daughter do to increase her time in 100m freestyle by nearly 2 seconds, in three days? She has a A grade competition this coming Saturday night & would dearly love to get a qualifying time for the State Championships in that event. The main issue would be her diet. She is a lacto vegeatarian ( no meat or eggs, although eggs can be mixed in products, such as biscuits). I feel that if someone could help me out with a top, energy increasing diet, that this may help. She is also deficient in protein. She does have iron supplements & multivitamins. A diet that she can start now, to help her build up over the next three days. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

Veggie Protein - Protein in vegetables are as good as in animals
I am glad you daughter got all those medals including a silver for the 100m freestyle. Congrats. Hope she made the necessary time. As for taking 2 seconds odd her time, I could suggested breathing exercises so she could get the most of air in the few times she puts the head out. This takes make thou. Protein deficiency is very rare and should be dealt by a doctor. Have said that, soybeans are wonderful source of protein and not much taste to say the least. So I prefer lentils, oatmeal and spinach.

Yes, breathing exercises sound like a good idea. Unfortunately she has never liked soy beans, but I am going to try her on lentils. Oatmeal is a possibility too, I didn't know that was high in protein.
