Do you prefer a live tree for Christmas?

Bringing in and decorating a tree used to be a big tradition in my family. The excitement began when the tree was set up and decorated. To this day, I have many pleasant memories of past Christmases at home, and if I didn't own cats, would buy and decorate a live tree. I'm sure that artificial trees have their merits, but they tend to be "things" to be installed before Christmas, admired, then dismantled and stored away for next year. Even more important, they lack the piney scent of live trees. What's your preference, live or artificial trees?

I LOVE the real tree smell, but hate the pine needles all over the floor! We have an artificial this year. cause we alreayd had it and it was convienent. I think we will buy the stand just after xmas and get it cheap and then next year we will get a nice real tree. I wonder how many tree's are cut down each year at xmas time around the world. and if EVERYONE who celebrates xmas around the world cuts down and decorates tree;s.. i think i will make a discussion about it :) thanks for the idea :)
